Rosa Doyle is an artist, illustrator and poet based in London. Rosa creates vibrant illustrations using a rich mix of pattern, colour and texture, blending her family’s craft heritage with her love for natural materials.
Her illustrations focus on picture books and children’s non-fiction, creating sensitive art with a gentle humour to delight young readers. Rosa’s passion for themes such as nature, folk customs, myth and poetry is reflected in her impressive professional practice. In addition to working as an illustrator, Rosa also has an active practice as a fine artist. She adopts a sensitive and reflective approach to painting, creating striking pieces that offer a fresh perspective on the world around her.
Her work has been featured in the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, De La Warr Pavillion, Puffin Books, The Garden Museum and Onebillion. She has also exhibited her paintings and illustrations extensively, including at West Dean College, Royal Society of Marine Artists (Mall Galleries), St Margaret's House, Westminster Reference Library, and The Fashion and Textile Museum.
Rosa holds a BA (Hons) in Illustration from Camberwell College of Art. She was also part of the Pathways into Children’s Publishing programme for children’s illustrators, where she grew with guidance from industry stalwarts Vivienne Schwarz and Alexis Deacon.
She is currently developing her skills as a writer to complement her work as an artist and illustrator.
